Women in Britain and Japan🇬🇧🦸‍♀️🤸‍♀️

Hello, everyone and welcome back to my blog!! I wrote about traveling with children in Britain in my last blog. How was it?? I hope you guys could know the great spots and enjoy my blog.😊😊 Today, I’m going to write about treatment of women in Britain and Japan. 🇬🇧🇯🇵 Do you know how different between them??🥸

Ladies First🕴💃

In Britain, there is a culture which is “Ladies First”. It means that man with good manners, will always let the woman go first. So, if you go to Britain, maybe you can see situations which man open doors for woman or man give up a seat for woman. Man do these things even for people who they don’t know. Actually, women used to go first because they considered the weaker sex but now people still do it because of tradition and most women like it. Men often do things women like because it make them happy.

In Japan, I think there is a culture which is “Ladies First” but it’s a little bit. Maybe man do the things which is ladies first for own girlfriend or mother but they don’t do that for people who they don’t know. I mean that if I were standing in a train in Britain, maybe man give me a seat but I don’t really see this situation in Japan. Maybe Japanese are shy and we don’t speak so much with someone you don’t know.

Men are treated better than women🙄🤐

I don’t know this is true or not. However, girls and young women don’t feel they are treated the same way as boys and young men, a new report by Plan International UK has highlighted. The report, which surveyed over 1,000 girls aged 14-21, found 60% of girls believe males are treated better than females in the UK. These girls noticed differences in treatment in the media (72%), at school (41%) and even at home (22%). More than half of girls (57%) said they have personally encountered a situation where they believe they would have been treated better if they were male.

What about Japan? Actually I have never felt that men are treated better than women in my life. However, there is definitely the culture in Japan. I don’t know why but I’m wondering that when I have own kids, I have to quit a job and stay home for taking care of them. I don’t think it’s a not good thing but it is. Because some women want to work even they have own kids. This is one of the fixed idea like women should quit a job and take care of children. I think women have a right about working even they have own kids and men should also do same things. Taking care of children is not only mam’s job.

Conclusion

How was about treatment of women?? There are some problems in both countries about it. It is difficult to solve the problem and change some fixed ideas. That’s all for today! Thank you for reading and see you around. 😊😊

Nice statistics on the treatment of men compared with women.

The issue of the gender pay gap, equality, and equity is a problem that the whole world struggles with. Japan definitely has its own problems and I am glad that you learned about it and have an awareness of it. Please teach others what you have learned and take action whenever possible.

Natsuki, thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout this semester. I appreciated reading your in-depth blogs that were chock-full of information and content. You weren’t the only one that learned from writing the blogs, when I read your blogs, I felt like I was learning about the world.

    Enjoy your spring vacation!
