6 Types of Britain Homes

There are a lot of home types in Britain. In Japan, there are just 3 home types like house, apartment or mansion. If you guys are thinking about living in Britain, please check this blog out!! I’m going to explain residence status in Britain.

1. Detached House

As the name already suggests, detached houses do not share any walls with a separate structure. This types of houses are most expensive. However, sizes, forms and costs are so different. So, it depends on the house. They also have both front and back gardens and garages. Many detached houses have more than 4 bed rooms. They can not built if there are not large space so you can see them in the suburbs in Britain. In Japan, I think we usually don’t have both front and back gardens and also garages. Of course, it depends on the house but I guess rich people have this kind of houses.

2. Semi Detached House

This types of houses are particular to Britain. As the name suggests, the only major difference between a detached house and a semi detached house is that semi detached houses are share at least one wall. Almost semi detached houses are symmetrical. There are usually 3 bed rooms in a second floor. Recently, they have garages and parking spaces commonly. Sometimes we can see this types of houses in Japan but they are as apartments so that is the difference from Britain and Japanese.

3. Terraced Housing

These are actually some of the most well-known and iconic housing types in Britain. Terraced houses are connected by a single wall on either side. The main advantage here is that this type of construction saves a great deal of space. This is why they are very popular. Maybe Japanese think they are kinds of poor little bit because we do not have this culture but that is wrong. They usually have 3 beds room and gardens. I feel I want to live this house if I live in Britain because I can feel something new and maybe make friends.

4. Bungalows

Old people live in this types of house. This is a house of one story. One of the easiest ways to difference between a bungalow and a detached house is the fact that bungalows tend to much smaller. I think this types of houses are familiar in the past of Japan. Aren’t them?

5. Purpose Built Flat

They are like apartments in Japan. There are a person who is called portar in a purpose built flat. The great thing about purpose built flats is that are designed specially with the living space in mind. Nomally you get a good size living room and bed rooms and then a smaller kitchen and bathroom.

6. End of terrace houses

The only main difference between end of terrace house and the terrace house is that these structures are found at the terminal of a row of homes. In other words, only one wall is shared with an adjacent structure. So that means this type of houses are almost same as semi detached houses.
